CrossFit is a method of strengthening and conditioning your system built on constantly varied, functional movements executed at high intensity. Our program delivers fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, sports, and life training reward this kind of fitness and punish the specialist.
Man’s world is movement. Our standing, sitting, throwing, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, running, and of course, punching are all quite natural. They got us where we are. They are part of our design. And these natural, primal, movements STRONGLY influence the exercises included in CrossFit’s system of workouts.
CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.
The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any individual committed to excellence in fitness regardless of experience. The same routines are used for elderly individuals who may have heart disease as well as cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. The load and intensity of the program is scaled for the individual, but the workout remains the same for all.
CrossFit also offers a way to review the improvements you have been making (besides the obvious physical improvements you will notice) by doing the W.O.D. (Work Out of the
Day) and benchmarking your efforts.
By following the W.O.D. you are using a series of workouts that will serve to measure and mark your performance and improvements through repeated, irregular appearances as the “Workout of the Day”. The benchmarks will be distinguished by their female names. Commonly known as “The Girls”.
